Meet Our Doctors

Rex A. Newcomb, O.D.

Dr. Newcomb is a native of Bolivar, MO. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Southwest Baptist University in 1979. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1984. He joined Dr. David Kramer in 1984 at the Buffalo office and established the Marshfield practice that same year.

Professional services include past-president of the Missouri Optometric Association, past-president of the Greater Ozarks Optometric Association, member of the American Optometric Association, and is a past president of the Missouri Optometric Foundation. Dr. Newcomb received the University of Missouri-St. Louis Distinguished Alumni Award and was recognized by his peers by being presented with the “Missouri Optometrist of the Year.”

His civic duties include being a past-president and current member of the Marshfield Lions Club as well as serving as current president of the Marshfield Public Schools Foundation.

 

Shawn M. Yarnell, O.D.

Dr. Yarnell is originally from Owensville, MO. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Chemistry at the University of MO-Columbia in 2006. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a summer abroad at a prominent women's university in Seoul, South Korea. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors at the University of MO-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2010, and joined the Buffalo and Marshfield Eye Clinics in the summer of 2010.

While at UMSL, Dr. Yarnell was actively involved in the college community. She served in several leadership roles in various organizations on campus, and received several awards and scholarships through the college. Currently, she is a member of the American Optometric Association, a member of the Missouri Optometric Association, of which she serves on a committee. Also, she is President of the Greater Ozark Optometric Society.

Dr. Yarnell has previously served on OACAC's Head Start Policy Council. She is also actively involved in her church. On her spare time, Dr. Yarnell enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing crafts, and volunteering in the church and community.

Yousef J. Ibrahim, O.D.

Dr. Ibrahim grew up in Salem, MO. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Missouri State University, graduating from the Honor's College 2013. After receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, he joined Buffalo and Marshfield Eye Clinics in the summer of 2017.

After completing clinical externships with the Wichita VA Medical Center, Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, and Buffalo and Marshfield Eye Clinics, Dr. Ibrahim has extensive training in primary eye care, ocular disease management, low vision rehabilitation, specialty contact lenses, and pediatric care. He is liscensed to treat and manage visual and medical conditions of the eye, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetes.

Professionally, Dr. Ibrahim is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Missouri Optometric Association, the Greater Ozarks Optometric Society, and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Fraternity.
